Today, reading my dear friend’s great post* about Louis C.K., I thought Louis C.K. seems a bit like Hamlet. This is probably just because I’m teaching Hamlet right now, so it’s on my mind even though I personally don’t like the play very much.
But I mean, Hamlet and Louis both think about death an awful lot! Louis C.K. is just older, more mature, a bit more stable (maybe Hamlet just needed to revise his feelings about kids? OK, not really, that still would have been terrible). It also helps that he doesn’t have to avenge anyone’s death. Still, he’s not afraid to tackle the big questions.
Anyway, then I came across this clip while looking for a different bit from Louie. Maybe I should compare him to Ophelia instead.
*This one is maybe even better!
